Public private partnerships/private finance initiative

David has advised:

• the successful Leighton Contractors/Macquarie Bank consortium on their bid for the $2b new Royal Adelaide Hospital PPP project;
• the successful consortium for the Department of Defence HQJOC project;
• the successful ABN AMRO/Leighton Contractors consortium on the purchase of the Cross City Tunnel from the receivers;
• bidding consortia in respect of many PPP projects around Australia including Mundaring water treatment plant, the Northern Territory Secure Facilities PPP, Melbourne Convention Centre, Royal North Shore Hospital and each of the Lane Cove Tunnel and Western Sydney Orbital toll road projects in New South Wales and the Airport Link tollroad in Queensland;
• the successful Axiom consortium on its bids for each of the two New South Wales education PPP projects for nineteen schools; and
• the government in respect of the Southbank TAFE redevelopment and schools PPP projects in Queensland.
  

Major infrastructure projects

David has advised:

• on the development of an industrial waste treatment plant in the United Arab Emirates;
• the lenders on the design, construction, commissioning and operation of a grain to ethanol production facility in Queensland; and
• Intergen in respect of a number of power plant developments including the 840MW coal-fired power station at Millmerran in Queensland and the acquisition of a half share in the part constructed Callide C power station.
  

Building and construction

David has advised:

• Echo Entertainment on its $870m redevelopment of Star City Casino in Sydney in its transformation to The Star entertainment precinct;
• Goodman, Leighton Properties  and others in respect of a number of commercial property developments;
• Lend Lease on construction aspects in respect of a range of shopping centre, commercial and residential developments including the Darling Walk development and Jacksons Landing development at Pyrmont, and
