Current practice
Tony is a senior member of the national Projects team, with substantial experience in commercial matters, including corporate contracts, commercial advice, management and governance, and major projects.
He is also the head of the Western Australia Corporate technology and IP team, which deals in corporate and commercial matters—particularly as they relate to technology and IP matters—and technology-focused companies and enterprises.
Experience
Tony has a broad commercial law background encompassing a wide variety of commercial transactions, including:
- general commercial and corporate work, including sales, joint ventures, leasing and licensing, structuring and fund raising
- commercial and corporate technology and IP, including licensing, transfers, outsourcing and consulting and service agreements
- working with companies with a technology focus get established
- regulatory advice, including corporate governance, trade practices and privacy, and
- intellectual property work including confidentiality and information management and protection.
He acts for a wide range of clients, including Woodside, BHP Billiton, BankWest, Synergy, Western Power, Futuris, the Wilson Parking group, Advanced Nanotechnology, St John of God Hospital group, Lend Lease, RentSmart, WA Airports and Worley Parsons.
Professional background
Tony has Bachelor of Jurisprudence (Honours) and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of Western Australia. He joined the firm in Perth in 1986 and became a partner in 1993. He is the chairman of the Western Australia Chamber of Commerce IT and Telecommunications Committee.
