LNG and gas processing
LNG and gas processing clients include:
- Santos on the development of an $8billion coal seam gas-fed LNG development at Gladstone
- Santos on its participation in a multi field unitisation and $12billion LNG development in Papua New Guinea
- MEO Australia on the development of co-located and common feedstock LNG and methanol projects on Tassie Shoal in the Timor Sea
- Santos on the Longtom toll processing and gas sales arrangements with Nexus Energy
- LyondellBasell on all aspects of its petrochemicals/polyolefins business in Australia, and
- Petrochemical Industries Corp of Kuwait on the acquisition of a global olefins business from Dow Chemical.
Upstream oil & gas
Upstream oil & gas clients include:
- Santos on common infrastructure arrangements with the Gorgon LNG joint venture on Barrow Island and the sequestration of Co2 by Gorgon into wells belonging to the Barrow Island joint venture
- MEO Australia on the farmin to and farmout of the W359-361 permits in Western Australia
- Soco International on the sale of its oil producing and exploration assets in Mongolia, Tunisia and Thailand
- Centrica plc on the acquisition of oil & gas producing fields in the North Sea
- Lundin Petroleum on the acquisition of oil & gas producing assets in the UK, Norway and Ireland, and an associated borrowing base finance facility
- Mitsui/MOECO on their proposed joint purchase of assets in the Malaysia/Thailand Joint Development Area
- Kuwait Petroleum Corporation on the sale and purchase of gas from Qatar via undersea pipeline, and
- Kuwait Petroleum Corporation on the sale and purchase of gas from Iran via undersea pipeline.
International joint development
International and joint development clients include:
- BG, Chevron and Rio Tinto on their petroleum concessions in an area the subject of dispute with Cambodia and the development of a hydrocarbon joint development zone in the Gulf of Thailand
- ERHC Energy on the implementation of its rights to oil & gas acreage in the Nigeria/Sao Tome joint Development Area and associated fundraising options
- KUFPEC on the restructure and renegotiation of arrangements with its concessionaire in the Kuwait/Saudi Arabia Offshore Divided Zone, including a US$750million loan facility, and
- Mitsui/MOECO on their proposed joint purchase of assets in the Malaysia/Thailand Joint Development Area.
Pipelines
Pipeline clients include:
- Babcock & Brown infrastructure on the operational separation of the Tasmanian Gas Pipeline
- Singapore Power on the development of the South Gippsland Natural Gas Pipeline
- Santos on the development of the Fairview to Wallambilla Gas Pipeline
- IFM on the acquisition of interests in the Colonial Petroleum Pipeline in the United States
- Kuwait Petroleum Corporation on the development of a cross border pipeline between Kuwait and Iran
- Kuwait Petroleum Corporation on the structuring and development of an undersea gas pipeline between Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait including host government and intergovernment arrangements
- AIOC in relation to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Oil Pipeline, and
- Teesside Power on transportation, capacity and allocation arrangements in a private gas pipeline network.
Power
Power clients include:
- Zinifex on power purchase and associated hedging arrangements for the Roseberry zinc mine
- Mitsui on the portfolio acquisition of 10 IPP power stations in consortium with International Power and an associated mezzanine financing facility
- Macquarie Bank on the sale of its 50 per cent interest in South Korean power producer Posco Power
- Centrica plc on the acquisition of the Barry CCGT power station and energy wholesaler Enron Direct
- J Power and Mitsui on their joint bid for a 50 per cent interest in South Korean power producer KIECO
- Teeside Power on the sale of its 1800 mW CCGT power station
- Teeside Power on the restructure of shareholder, essential service supply and PPA arrangements
- State Government of Victoria on the implementation of retail competition in Victoria’s electricity markets including the associated restructure and rewriting of the Victorian Electricity Act, and
- United Energy on the merger of its energy distribution, retailing and trading interests into the Pulse Group.
Mining
Mining clients include:
- Anglo American on a strategic alliance agreement with Austindo Resources in Indonesia
- MinMet plc on numerous minerals farmin, joint venture and royalty override arrangements
- Moonstone Resources on the development of the Altyn-Tas Gold Mine in Kazakhstan, and
- Rio Tinto on the divestment of a series of tenements in Western Australia.
Other infrastructure
Other infrastructure clients include:
- Department of Transport (Victoria) on the development of major project facilitation legislation
- Department of Infrastructure (Victoria) on the expansion and redevelopment of the passenger rail line from Caulfield to Dandenong
- IFM on the acquisition of Anglia Water plc including structuring and consortium arrangements
- Macquarie Korea Opportunities Fund on the portfolio acquisition together with Hanjin Shipping of port interests in Japan, Korea and the United States
- AustralianSuper on its co-investment into the acquisition of port interests in the United States
- Macquarie Bank on the divestment of its preference shareholding in CJ Cablenet in Taiwan
- the Eurostar rail operator on a restructure merging the three Eurostar businesses (one in each of the United Kingdom, France and Belgium) into a single entity, and
- National Express on the renegotiation of the contractual arrangements between Railtrack, the Eurostar and the developer of the high speed rail link between London and the English Channel.
