Freehills has announced the appointment of eight exceptional new partners today. The new partners span two different practice areas across the firm, in three different states, and are comprised of three women and five men.
These appointments highlight the cyclical nature of the legal market where economic challenges spell even greater need for outstanding legal services sought by Freehills’ clients across Australia and internationally.
In making the announcement, Freehills’ Chief Executive Officer, Gavin Bell, said that the firm continues to overcome the challenges brought about by uncertain economic times which has not stopped the appointment of new partners who add to the enormous depth of talent at the firm, and commented that each individual will provide a unique set of skills and experience that 'help meet the ever increasing challenges our clients face.'
'These new partners are exceptional and in a time of market volatility and economic challenges, they are well placed to deliver innovative and value adding solutions for our clients,' said Mr Bell.
'These individuals are technically brilliant and possess the ability to listen and respond to client needs and communicate effectively, and above all, display a real passion for working with clients when making commercial decisions that are important to their businesses,' he continued.
Mr Bell in considering how Freehills differentiates itself as the market leader among other top-tier firms, points to a combination of technical excellence and commercial acumen not easily found elsewhere.
'At the end of the day, our clients want us to make a call on what is the best way forward, given the circumstances. Tough decisions are a part of business and once all the technical and commercial factors are taken into account, our lawyers can deliver sound advice that our clients require of us.'
Mr Bell was enthusiastic when discussing the firm’s growth prospects in the coming year, saying that that Freehills has been advising clients on how to best meet the current challenges encompassing business restructuring, litigation matters, industrial relations reforms, insolvency and a wide variety of other complex issues.
'I am enormously proud of our lawyers who possess such passion for maintaining a standard of excellence in the service provided to our clients.' said Mr Bell.
The new partners’ appointments will become effective from 1 July 2008. The new partners will transition into their new roles over the next few weeks and participate in the firm's partner induction program.
