Our property finance lawyers act for both borrowers (developers and purchasers) and lenders in planning and structuring transactions involving debt and equity financing. We assist borrowers to deal with lender requirements, including loan documentation and supporting securities.
Our comprehensive range of services also includes: planning and structuring the transaction, advising on documentation of the building and construction aspects, operating agreements and joint ventures, as well as dealing with regulatory authorities.

- ING Real Estate Community Living Fund - Advising the Commonwealth Bank of Australia on various secured financings of the ING Real Estate Community Living Fund (previously Village Life Trust), a listed property trust, in relation to the acquisition and development of retirement villages throughout Australia.
- Tourism Asset Holdings Limited - Advising various syndicates of banks on various secured senior and mezzanine financings of the hotel portfolio of Tourism Asset Holdings Limited, including following the on-market takeover by Babcock & Brown.
- Everest Babcock & Brown - Advising on various mezzanine financings, including in relation to the Melbourne Royal Children’s Hospital redevelopment, Orange Hospital redevelopment, Coogee Resources Limited and various European port assets.
- Investa Property Group - Advising Investa Property Group on the financing of its wholesale and retail funds and on the core financing for the Investa Property Group, including US private placements, commercial mortgaged-back sercurties (CMBS) issues and domestic note issues.
- Brisbane Square - Acted for ABN Amro in the provision of commercial property and construction / project finance for the construction of the Brisbane Square building.
- Chatswood interchange - Advising Commonwealth Bank of Australia on the $110 million secured senior financing of the development of a new transport interchange at Chatswood train station and related retail and residential works.
- Darling Park, Sydney - Acted for Bovis Lend Lease on the $400 million Darling Park commercial property financing in Sydney.
- Lend Lease - Acted for Lend Lease on numerous property construction financings, including:
- ‘Italian Forum’ residential and commercial development at Leichhardt
- Homebush Bay Hotel
- Administrative Building refurbishment, Canberra
- National Film and Sound Archive development, Canberra
- ’Forum West’, St Leonards
- ’Jacksons Landing’, Pyrmont.
- Westpac Office Tower - Acted for Leighton Holdings on the financing aspects of Westpac Office Tower development.
- Toga Group - Advising the Toga Group and the Toga Accommodation Fund on the financing, leasing, acquisition and disposal for the acquisition and commercial development of serviced apartments and hotels in Australia and Europe.
