Bruno Camarri is a senior member in the Energy and Resources section of the Perth office of Freehills.
Experience
Since 1969 Bruno has practised as a corporate lawyer, primarily representing clients in the energy and natural resources industries. He has advised both private industry and government in relation to joint ventures, sale, purchase and delivery of assets and commodities, financing, construction, foreign and local takeovers, taxation, IPO’s (ASX and AIM), capital raisings, due diligence, titles (including native title), corporate governance and technology transfer.
Professional background
Bruno has a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Western Australia. He joined Freehills in 1969 and was admitted to partnership in 1973 and retired as a partner on 30 June 2003. Between January 1994 and August 1996 he was the Senior Counsel for the Western Australian Commission on Government. Bruno is the Deputy Chairman of United Group Ltd and a non executive director of LinQ Capital Ltd.
Bruno was appointed a member in the General Division of the Order of Australia (announced in the Queen’s Birthday 2008 Honours List on Monday 9 June 2008). He was also a nominee for the Western Australian Citizen of the Year Award in Community Services in 2006 and was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International in 1999. Bruno was awarded the Butterworth’s Lawyers Community Service Award in 1998 and the St Georges Rotary Community Services Award in 1999. He is a patron of United Way (WA) Inc and President of the Board of Governors of Meerilinga Young Children’s Foundation Inc.
