Freehills has topped the 2010 list of Australia’s best lawyers, compiled by an independent survey in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluated their professional peers.
The list, created by the legal benchmarking group Best Lawyers International, includes 120 Freehills lawyers, not only the largest overall number of ‘best lawyers’ than any law firm in Australia, but also 17 more lawyers than last year.
Freehills also had more listed lawyers than any other Australian law firm across 22 practice areas including Litigation, M&A, Project Finance, Private Equity and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Freehills’ Chief Executive Officer, Gavin Bell, said the result reflected the firm’s strong relationships with its clients and its ongoing commitment to hiring and nurturing Australia’s top legal talent.
‘The range of practice areas in which we have the largest number of lawyers ranked shows the diversity of talented commercial advisers that are the heart of the Freehills team,’ he said.

This is the third Australian list compiled by the United States-based polling group, Best Lawyers, which conducts peer-review surveys to identify Australia’s most respected legal practitioners.
