Madeleen Rousseau joined Freehills in June 2009 as a consultant. She is a member of the Freehills IP team in Perth advising on all aspects of trade marks and copyright, portfolio management and protection.
Experience
Prior to joining Freehills, Madeleen was a partner in a leading South African intellectual property firm. Madeleen has 15 years legal practice experience in private practice working on a broad range of trade mark, copyright and commercial matters. Her practice relates to trade mark registration and portfolio management, as well as clearance work for advertising and promotional campaigns, licensing and transfer transactions and conducting due diligence on IP matters. Madeleen’s experience includes advising large industrial and commercial enterprises, government agencies and universities on branding, copyright and contractual issues relating to intellectual property. She is a regular speaker for industry bodies and universities on IP issues.
Professional background
Madeleen holds Arts and Law degrees and is a registered trade mark attorney. She is admitted to practise law in Australia and South Africa.
