Current practice
Lisa works in Freehills’ Melbourne Employee Relations group. Her practice involves advising clients in respect of a range of general employment and equal opportunity matters.
Experience
Lisa has worked closely with clients from industry sectors including telecommunications, banking, pharmaceutical, aviation and vehicle manufacturing in Australia and Asia.
Lisa has significant international legal experience, having worked for three years as an employment lawyer in Hong Kong with Simmons & Simmons.
In addition to her practice at Freehills, Lisa has gained valuable experience whilst working on secondment, both to Telstra’s legal team and as a member of Goldman Sachs Asia’s Human Capital Management Group.
Lisa’s practice involves:
- investigating, responding and representing clients in relation to equal opportunity and bullying complaints
- managing the drafting and termination of employee and executive employment contracts
- investigating and responding to unfair dismissal claims and common law disputes over contracts of employment
- effecting small and large scale redundancies and managing selection for retrenchment processes
- drafting and reviewing company employment policies, and
- investigating and advising on employee disciplinary and performance management issues.
Lisa also regularly designs and delivers training programs on general employment and equal opportunity issues for management and employees.
Professional background
Lisa has a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts.
Lisa is admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Victoria.
