Roanne De Menezes is a solicitor and registered trade mark attorney with Freehills Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys in Melbourne. Roanne joined Freehills Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys in June 2004, after completing her articles and practising for several years at another major law firm.

Industry experience

Roanne's previous practice had a strong trade marks focus. Roanne acted on behalf of many brand owners in relation to their brand management and anti-counterfeiting strategy. Her experience included Federal Court litigations, as well as various commercial matters relating to intellectual property.

Roanne now practises in the area of the prosecution of Australian and overseas trade mark applications, oppositions and removal actions. She advises clients in relation to their trade mark portfolios, including advice on trade mark availability and infringement issues.

Professional background

Roanne graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and Bachelor of Arts degrees. She is admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia.
