Barry has advised clients on a wide range of legal aspects of property development and construction projects and associated litigation. This includes the documentation associated with large development projects and management agreements, rent reviews and planning approvals and appeals for larger industry and commercial property complexes. Barry also offers clients significant experience advising on ownership and structures, including joint ventures and property trusts.

  • adviser to Lend Lease on the development of Newington industrial estate
  • adviser to a development consortium on the 11.5 hectare Jacksons Landing redevelopment in Sydney
  • adviser to joint venture regarding the development of 1550 hectares at St Marys Sydney.
Property acquisition and ownership structures
  • adviser to the Darling Harbour Authority on its establishment included negotiating and documenting the development, construction and leasing documents for the Festival markets development and the Darling Harbour Casino projects
  • adviser to Singapore Government in relation to the puchase and restructuring of the Australand group of companies from their Schemes of Arrangement
  • adviser to Greater Union on their acquisition of Kosciusko/Thredbo Village
  • adviser to David Jones Ltd on its acquisition of the acquisition of the Aherns Group in Western Australia
  • adviser to Challenger Group in relation to their purchase of 85,000 hectares of forest assets across three States of Australia.
