Daneta is a registered patent attorney in the field of mechanical engineering and designs. She advises clients on patentability and infringement, and prepares and prosecutes patent applications in Australia, New Zealand and overseas.Industry experience
Daneta’s expertise lies in the preparation and prosecution of patents relating to consumer products, including medical devices and hand tools, and the building industry, including safety equipment. Other technology she has experience in includes:
- retail display devices
- children’s strollers
- car seats and furniture, and
- engines and products in the automotive industry.
Given Daneta’s training as an Industrial Designer, she is well versed in the preparation, prosecution and registration procedure for designs both in Australia and overseas.
Professional background
Daneta has a Bachelor of Engineering in Product Design Engineering from Swinburne University of Technology. This degree covers the fields of mechanical and manufacturing engineering and industrial design. She also has a Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Melbourne.
Daneta has studied ergonomic design principles in relation to consumer products. Daneta has previous experience in the automotive industry, having worked for Ford Australia.
Daneta is also registered as a Patent Attorney in New Zealand. She is an associate member of the Design Institute of Australia, a member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand and a fellow of the Institute of Patent and Trade Marks Attorneys of Australia.
