Georgina Hey joined Freehills Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys, Sydney in 2000. Georgina specialises in trade mark law and has responsibility for a number of major trade mark portfolios.

Industry experience

Prior to joining Freehills Georgina gained experience working for IP Australia and a specialist intellectual property searching firm.

Georgina advises Australian and overseas clients in relation to trade marks law including:
  • trade mark protection strategies
  • trade mark availability and infringement risks
  • prosecution of trade mark applications
  • assignment and licensing of trade marks
  • trade mark non-use applications and oppositions.

Professional background

Georgina has a Bachelor of Laws at the University of New South Wales and is admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales. Georgina is also a registered trade marks attorney. Georgina has a Masters of Legal Studies specialising in intellectual property law from the University of Technology, Sydney, a Graduate Certificate in Trade Mark Law and Practice, and a Bachelor of Industrial Design from the University of New South Wales.
