Current practice

David has extensive experience in all areas of commercial, industrial and residential property, property development, infrastructure, and planning and environment. He advises key corporate and private sector organisations on major property developments and infrastructure projects. David also provides legal advice in relation to the establishment of appropriate structures for the holding and/or development of commercial office buildings, shopping centres, business parks and a variety of suburban developments.

David has acted for corporate and public sector clients on a wide range of property-related matters, including the acquisition, development and disposal of prime commercial, retail and industrial sites.

Industry experience

  • Advising Lend Lease on the $1.8 billion development of the Victoria Harbour precinct at Melbourne Docklands.
  • Acting for Queensland Investment Corporation in relation to the acquisition of 80 Collins Street, Melbourne for $140 million.
  • Advising National Australia Bank as financier of the Queen Victoria and Eureka Tower developments.
  • Acting for Leighton Properties in the development of 700 Collins Street, the Moorabbin Homemaker Centre and the Nepean Homemaker Centre.
  • Acting for the Valad Property Group in the acquisition and subsequent sale of Australia Post House, 321 Exhibition Street, Melbourne.
  • Acting for the owner in the development of the Hidden Valley Residential and County Club project
  • Acting for Transurban in respect to its property rights and obligations with respect to the City Link Project.
  • Acting for the owner in relation to the sale of 215 Spring Street, Melbourne.
  • Advising Macquarie Bank in relation to the development of 430 St Kilda Road, Melbourne.
  • Advising General Property Trust in relation to the development of the Austrak Industrial Estate, Somerton.
  • Acting for Studio City in its Docklands redevelopment project.
  • Acting for Mayne Nickless Limited in relation to the Dorevitch Pathology development at 16–18 Banksia Street, Heidelberg.
  • Acting for Lend Lease in relation to the sale of 50 per cent of the units in the No 1 Spring Street trust.

David graduated from Monash University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws and is admitted to practice in Victoria.
