Frances is an Intellectual Property lawyer currently focusing on portfolio management and all aspects of trade mark protection. Frances has extensive experience in contentious and non-contentious Intellectual Property gained in both private practice and in-house roles.
Experience
Frances manages the worldwide trade mark portfolios of amongst others, David Jones, George Weston Foods and Lend Lease and the Australian portfolios of a large multinational pharmaceutical company, John Fairfax Publications and Caltex.
Frances is an experienced advocate in oppositions and other actions before the Registrar of Trade Marks. Frances manages portfolios across the South Pacific liaising directly with government departments.
Frances has 20 years of experience practising in Intellectual Property law. She moved to Australia having spent almost nine years in Hong Kong, latterly as a partner in one of Hong Kong’s leading IP practices.
Frances has worked extensively in Asia Pacific IP matters and helped set up an office in the PRC.
Frances has also been in-house trade marks advisor to a major pharmaceutical and multinational in the United Kingdom.
Frances regularly presents seminars locally and abroad on issues associated with trade mark protection. Frances has authored several articles and publications on trade mark law.
Professional background
Frances has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from Kingston University, London. She is admitted to practice in Australia, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom and is a UK registered Trade Mark Attorney.
Frances is a member of the UK Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys and the Pharmaceutical Trade Marks Group.
Frances has trained to be an accredited mediator.
