Freehills wins CFO Magazine’s 2006 Corporate Legal Services Firm of the Year Award
22 September 2006Freehills’ outstanding success for the 2005/2006 financial year has been recognised and rewarded with the coveted accolade of CFO Magazine’s 2006 Corporate Legal Services Firm of the Year Award.
The award was announced on 21 September at the CFO Awards 2006 event in Sydney, which was attended by Freehills’ Chief Executive Officer, Gavin Bell, and Chief Financial Officer, Janet Young.
The award was granted after a poll of leading lawyers put the firm ahead of its strong competition, and has been said to recognise that 'Freehills has probably made the most progress in the last two years.'
In receiving the award on behalf of the firm, Gavin Bell said that the accolade is one for all Freehills staff to feel proud of.
'The 05/06 financial year has been a very busy, important and exciting one for Freehills. We have achieved significant growth in a mature market; our achievements have been further reflected by our recent invitation to 14 outstanding lawyers to join the Freehills partnership—the largest number of partners the firm has ever appointed at one time,' he said.
'Our growth signals the true vibrancy of the firm and the success we are enjoying with our clients and people,' he added.
Mr Bell went on to say that he is pleased to see the evidence of the success of several major client-focused projects which were implemented during the period, including the launch and implementation of the firm’s Commerciality Program and the implementation of a leading edge document re-design initiative to ensure all communication with clients is clear, actionable and relevant.
The firm also launched a new set of values and a guiding vision for the firm, following extensive consultation with all staff.
